Chief Development Officer
Brian Mueller
Brian is the Chief Development Officer for Vicinity, responsible for advancing major project opportunities, large district expansion developments, and strategic acquisitions for Vicinity Energy. Prior to his role at Vicinity, Brian served as Vice President (VP) of Business Development for Veolia. With a focus on central utility services, Brian spent time at Veolia developing large, complex energy infrastructure projects for industrial, university and healthcare verticals, leveraging multiple business line synergies to drive customer value.
With over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, Brian’s experience spans engineering, business development and management. He served as VP of Business Development for Cube District Energy, an I Squared Capital portfolio company focused on combined heat and power (CHP), district energy, and landfill-gas-to-energy projects. In addition, he was VP of Sales for Optimum Energy, a leading energy efficiency software company. Brian also held multiple engineering and development positions supporting Sodexo’s university market segment.
Brian holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University.
