Pioneering what’s next

Our path to decarbonization

Our electrification strategy in Philadelphia is well underway, utilizing a unique combination of industrial-scale heat pumps, electric boilers, and thermal storage technologies.

Building the future

Electrification progress

Developing

We are in the planning phase for the installation of several industrial-scale heat pumps to be installed at our Philadelphia facility and draw from the Schuylkill River.

Engineering

The engineering for our first electric boiler has begun. The engineering for our first industrial-scale heat pump complex has also begun.

Implementing

The electric boiler is expected to enter service in 2026 and the first industrial-scale heat pump complex is expected to be installed in 2029.

Delivering

Carbon-free eSteam™ will be delivered to Philadelphia buildings in the next few years.
