William DiCroce

As the Chairman of Vicinity Energy, Bill DiCroce leads the largest district energy portfolio in North America. He holds over 35 years of experience in management, leadership and operations/engineering with large energy and environmental companies in North America. Bill previously served in executive leadership roles for Vicinity Energy and Veolia’s energy, water and waste companies, including President and CEO of Vicinity Energy and Veolia North America.

Bill began his career with General Electric at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, where he was certified as a nuclear power engineer within the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion program. Bill next entered the commercial nuclear power generation industry and held a succession of operational(SRO-nuclear), managerial and executive positions within Boston Edison and the Entergy Corporation. Before joining Veolia, Bill was the President and COO of NSTAR Electric and Gas Company’s unregulated subsidiaries, which owned and operated private utilities including district energy and telecommunication businesses in the greater Boston area.

Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and an MBA at Boston University. At the Massachusetts Maritime Academy he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the MMA Foundation, and he previously supported the Academy by serving as an adjunct professor/advisor for both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Bill also has served as a board member for several industry and environmental organizations, including The Mayor of the City of Boston’s Green Ribbon Commission(GRC), New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC), International District Energy Association (IDEA) and Advanced Energy Economy (AEE).
